A buffer overflow vulnerability exists in Microsoft Windows that may allow for code execution when clicking a malicious hyperlink within a malformed document.

Description

Microsoft Windows is an industry standard operating system. A code execution vulnerability is present in some versions of Microsoft Windows. A boundary error in the DLL that processes hyperlinks, hlink.dll, has been reported. An attacker would need to convince the victim to click a malicious hyperlink in an crafted document. A proof-of-concept is publicly available.
