Characteristics

This spyware trojan DLL is a Browser Helper Object that integrates with Internet Explorer. It monitors and alters HTTP requests and is installed by an executable file, which is detected as Floid.dr. When this executable is run, the program is installed silently. The installer is copied to the WINDOWS directory as wbeCheck.exe and a registry run key is created to load the program at startup:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\
    Run\CCB Enhancement = %WinDir%\wbeCheck.exe !!
The .DLL file is dropped into the WINDOWS directory and an INI file (the filename varies) is created to store a user id.
