See http://vil.nai.com/vil/pups/configuration.htm for information about how to enable, disable, and exclude detection of legitimately installed programs.

PUP detection was added to cover for an arguable 32 bit PE file originally called "Go In.exe", having a filesize of 90.944 bytes.

Upon running, a GUI messagehox appears with an EULA, explaining what the program is all about - dialing into adult websites.

Upon accepting it will copy the file to some loactions:

  • c:\Documents and Settings\user___\Desktop\Go In.exe
  • c:\Documents and Settings\user___\Start Menu\Go In.exe
  • c:\Documents and Settings\user___\Start Menu\Programs\Go In\Go In.exe
  • c:\Documents and Settings\user___\Start Menu\Programs\Go In\uninstall.lnk
  • c:\Program Files\dialers\Go In.exe (filesize 90.944 bytes)
  • c:\WINNT\system32\goinuninstall.exe (filesize12.800 bytes)

The uninstall link worked as promised upon testing, it didn't leave files behind hiddenly.

The program is related to g#o#i#n#d#i#r#e#c#t.com , # markings are used here so it won't automatically show a clickable weblink here.
