Upon installation of this adware application the following changes occur in the user's system.

This application installs the following toolbar.

The following directory is created:

  • %Program Files%\Websearch4u

The following files are added:

  • Show-0.dll
  • Websearch4u-0.dll

Show-0.dll is installed as BHO (Browser Helper Object).

Browser Helper Objects are executable files that are loaded when the browser is launched. They can perform various task,such as generating extra pop-up ads, monitoring page navigation, etc.

The following Registry keys are added:

  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\websearch4u
  • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\
    CurrentVersion\Explorer\Browser Helper Objects\
    {1E1B2879-88FF-11D2-8D96-D7ACAC95951F}

This adware application is an homepage hijacker.
